Sara Barnard was born in London. She has a BA in English Literature from the University of Oxford, where she read English and French, an MA in Creative Writing from Goldsmiths, and a PhD in Literature from King's College London. She was a Fellow at the University of Michigan's Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program, where she worked under Gerald Graff on a multimedia project entitled "The Material." She currently lives in New York City. Her first novel, The Time Traveler’s Guide to Everything, will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in July 2016.
